The e-distribution Edge project is an innovation project aimed to improve the efficiency and flexibility of the Italian electrical grid. The project involve the installation of intelligent devices (edge devices) by the connection points between the distribution network and the client. These devices, thanks to sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms, will be able to collect data on real time regard the status of the grid and taking measures to optimize the process.
The Edge project is an example how technological innovation can be employed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the electrical grid.
E-Distribuzione’s proposal have been approved by the Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and the Environment ARERA n° 365/2023/R/eel del 03/08/2023.
